Aging at Home Fairbanks (AAH) is a member organization offering support for older adults to live independently and remain engaged in their community.

Members remain socially connected, informed and open to new learning opportunities through social events, special interests groups, lectures, and discussions.

Members receive social support services that they need to remain in their homes as they age. Many services are provided by our wonderful volunteers; for services that our beyond volunteer scope, there is a list of screened paid providers.

AAH Fall Fundraiser: the Fairbanks Warming Center

AAH Members, Volunteers, Friends,
The AAH Steering Committee has launched our biennial fall fundraiser. We are excited to announce that this year we will support the Fairbanks Warming Center. There was an excellent front page article about this project in the September 23 Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. Many community groups, including our City Council, have come together to realize this important service.

Please dig deep into your wallets to help keep everyone, that is everyone, in our community warm this winter. You can donate online on the AAH web site, or write a check to AAH. We will gather your donations and get them to the North Star Community Foundation.

Donate by credit card on our Donations page, or by calling AAH at 907.799.4026.

Donations by check should be made payable to AAH Fairbanks, with Warming Center in the memo line. You can mail your check to AAH Fairbanks, 1424 Moore St., Fairbanks, AK 99701, or drop off your check at the front desk of the Fairbanks Senior Center.

Recent Volunteer Service

Full members of Aging at Home Fairbanks can request volunteer assistance with things like household tasks, technology support, and transportation. Here are some requests AAH volunteers have helped members with this past spring/summer:

Moving summer furniture from winter storage to deck/lawn.
Helping delete 1000's of emails to free up space in Google.
Clearing brush near a member's house.
Help with sharpening garden tools.
Removed wasp nest from roof-line.
Trouble-shooting a light switch.
Multiple members assisted with iPhone questions/troubles.
Set up a member's smart TV.
Clearing a tree that fell in a yard.
Multiple members helped with paperwork sorting.

AAH Fairbanks has 501-c-3 non-profit status as part of The North Star Council on Aging (the Fairbanks Senior Center), its fiscal sponsor.

AAH Fairbanks is a village in the Village-to-Village Network, an organization of almost 300 similar villages around the country. They have provided valuable information, support, and advice.
