Volunteers are the heart of Aging at Home Fairbanks.

Our volunteers help seniors continue living independently. Helping with small tasks can have a big impact on someone's life! 
Join with your neighbors to give a ride, help with a household chore, share a skill, and have fun.

Volunteer Activities

AAH Fairbanks assists members with:

• Transportation for medical and other appointments
  
• Computer/technical support
  
• Household tasks
• Light home maintenance
• Garden and yard help
• Friendly visits
• Help when unexpected needs arise
• Some volunteers have special skills, such as helping members with paperwork and understanding health benefits.
  

A Rewarding Experience

Our goal is to ensure that volunteering itself is a rewarding and satisfying experience. Many of our members also choose to serve as volunteers. The volunteer initiative provides opportunities for new friendships to develop among volunteers and members as they share experiences and discover mutual interests.   Volunteer service will not become a burden. A volunteer’s interests and abilities are matched with member needs. Volunteers are asked to sign up for tasks according to their skills and time availability. Volunteers are trained and well informed about the necessary policies and procedures.
