Our mission

Aging at Home Fairbanks (AAH Fairbanks) is a member organization offering support for older adults to live independently and to remain engaged in their community.

Our goals

  • Arrange volunteer support for at-home assistance, technical help, and transportation
  • Provide access to a list of member-recommended providers for specialized assistance
  • Organize member social and educational event
  • Share information on local resources and activities for older adults
  • Develop and implement ways for member to continue local involvement by helping with community needs

Steering Committee

The AAH Fairbanks Steering Committee is responsible for providing strategic direction to the organization, developing its policies and procedure, overseeing its financial distributions, and recommending the hiring and compensation of paid staff. The Program Director is also a (without vote) member of the Steering Committee.

Staff

AAH Fairbanks has two part-time staff: a Program Director and Assistant Program Director. The Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization and works closely with the Steering Committee Chair and other committees to achieve the goals of the program.

Emeritus Steering Committee

Emeritus Steering Committee are current or former members of the AAH Steering Committee who have served with two terms (or more) and held a leadership role and/or made significant contributions to the organization (e.g. volunteerism, fundraising, community outreach, etc.).

AAH Fairbanks has 501-c-3 non-profit status as part of The North Star Council on Aging (the Fairbanks Senior Center), its fiscal sponsor.

AAH Fairbanks is a village in the Village-to-Village Network, an organization of over 300 similar villages around the country. They have provided valuable information, support, and advice.
