About this event
Join us for a presentation by local historian Joan Skilbred: A story about the big 1906 gold bullion heist that took place on the Steamer Tanana between Fairbanks and Nenana. This exciting tale shows how gold was handled by banks, assayers, express companies, and insurance agents in early day Fairbanks. It also showcases the astonishing brazenness of one Fairbanks man and how he manipulated the entire Fairbanks judicial system during the investigation of his audacious crime.
