Did you know the University of Alaska Fairbanks is home to one of the top drone research programs in the country? Dr. Cathy Cahill is director of the Alaska Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration, which conducts a wide variety of geophysical, biological, and other scientific and engineering research. ACUASI operates drones ranging from small racing drones to the large 300 lb or greater class of research platform aircraft. The program has taken advantage of Alaska’s unique environment and, working with partners, is developing and testing drones for use in Alaska and across the U.S. Come learn about their research and the potential of this technology.
