AAH members will be answering the phones for the KUAC‘s fundraiser on "May One Match Day." Location: The KUAC Studio is on the lower level of the UAF Fine Arts Building (1718 W Tanana Dr Suite 202, Fairbanks, AK 99775). The closest parking is probably the metered parking in front of Signer‘s Hall and the Eielson Building (near the big plaza). If you‘d like to call in to donate to KUAC on May 1, the number is 907-474-5822.

This is an informal discussion group for those living with low vision. We share ideas about resources, new technology, and workarounds which can help with everyday challenges. Vision issues can develop slowly as we age, and we are continually discovering new ways to address them. The Low Vision group meets monthly, and you are welcome to attend whenever you can. Fairbanks North Star Borough hosts an annual catered lunch honoring senior residents for their accomplishments and commitment to the community they live in. You can register for the free luncheon by calling the Parks & Rec office at 907-459-1070. Registration is limited to 400 people. You are invited to find AAH and sit with us - we will gather at a couple tables!

Laurel Devaney, a volunteer for AK Songbird Institute, will meet us at the Peat Ponds on Goldstream Rd. for birdwatching! Bring binoculars if you have some. Laurel will have a spotting scope. Peat Ponds Wildlife Area is located on Goldstream Rd. If you approach from Sheep Creek Rd., Peat Ponds parking is on the right about .2 miles after passing the intersection of Murphy Dome Road. If you are coming west from Ballaine Rd, the Peat Ponds are on the left almost a mile past Ivory Jack‘s.
